Rafael Bienia

PhD candidate

Rafael Bienia is a PhD candidate at Maastricht University, Department of Literature and Arts. He holds a M.A. degree in Comparative Literature and English Studies (Johannes Gutenberg-Universitaet, Germany).

Narrations in digital (The Secret World), live action, and Pen & Paper / tabletop (World of Darkness) role-playing games are his keys for investigating cultural dynamics with Actor-Network Theory. He is part of the NWO project on "Narrative fan practices", with Karin Wenz and Nicolle Lamerichs. Associated to this project is Maarten Michielse.

Rafael is a member of the GamesCoop research group for Game Studies at the University Siegen.
