Christine Neuhold

Associate Professor

Christine Neuhold is Associate Professor of European Governance within the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Maastricht University.

 As of 1. September 2011 she is Director of the Research Master European Studies and Member of the Board of the Graduate School of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASoS).

She is a Political Scientist by training and holds her doctoral degree from the University of Vienna (awarded in 2000). Currently she is Co-coordinator of an Initial Training Network on Dynamics of Inter-institutional Cooperation in the EU (INCOOP), financed by the EU (http://www.in-coop.eu). Moreover she is a Member of a research project on National Parliaments after the Lisbon Treaty (OPAL), (http://opal.maasterplan.de). 
She is a member of the Research Panel at the Faculty of Social Sciences and as such advises scholars when submitting their research proposals for external funding.

Before joining Maastricht University she held positions at the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) in Maastricht (1997-2000) and at the Institute of Advanced Studies in Vienna (2000-2002).  

She has been a Visiting Lecturer at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing and a Visiting Scholar at the University of California, Berkeley (March - June 2011) .

 At Maastricht University she has served as Director of Studies of the Master of European Public Affairs (2004-2007) and of the Bachelor programme European Studies (2007-2010) and has been Associate Dean for Internationalisation (2005 – 2007).

She has published widely on different aspects of EU decision-making and co-supervises PhD students working on European integration.
